Our Program

ASAP Program

ASAP curriculum follows the traditional school calendar -- September to June -- and offers full and half-day programs.

Both programs service children between the ages of 2 1/2 and 7 years, and follow the appropriate New Jersey schools core curriculum. ASAP daily classroom schedule will include the following activities:

  • Educational and behavioral intervention
  • Social skills training through activities
  • Related services as scheduled.
  • Therapeutic" feeding time
  • Music, Arts and Movement

All activities are organized with structured free play opportunities, tailored to each child's needs, and follow the child's Individual Educational Plan (IEP). The typical child to teacher ratio will be 1-2/1. Classroom size is limited to no more than 10 children. Children are grouped based on their developmental age levels.

An extended summer program is available to ensure that acquired skills are maintained during the summer break.

The core ASAP service-offering consists of four programs:

  1. Center-Based: Children, ages 2 1/2 to 7years, attend either half or full-day sessions where they receive individualized intensive intervention program targeted at facilitating their inclusion into the least restrictive environment by the time they reach kindergarten age.
  2. Outreach Program: Children receive related services and home instruction on an individual basis, either at ASAP's facility, at home, or in their school.
  3. Parent Training and Support: Parents receive the guidance, training and support needed, either in their home or at ASAP
  4. Consultation Service to the Schools: Teaching staff will receive the training and guidance either through in-services or hands-on training during classroom activities.

Our goal at ASAP is to have your child reach age-appropriate levels in the above-mentioned skills and to be able to transition into and function successfully in an inclusive, least-restrictive educational environment as well as the community.

"Our Children"

ASAP services children between the ages of 2½ and 7 years, who require intensive, remedial and developmental training, and related services. ASAP Curriculum and Methods

The program's instructional interventions utilize applied behavior learning principles and evidence-based practices; and provide daily task analyses and ongoing functional assessments.

The curriculum follows a holistic multi-modal teaching approach, incorporating the arts, music and movement, and is adapted to every child's learning styles.

  • Cognitive Development (pre-academic/academic)
  • Language Skills (receptive/expressive)
  • Communication Skills
  • Social and Motor Development (fine/gross)
  • Learning Readiness
